[Legend] (Jan-May) 2012-2013 EVP journey

To follow up the previous status.

I have to post this part before I tell you about the Jan joint meeting with irrational motivated advanced Toastmasters, IMA TMC. It was the invitation from IMA, and I was not sure whether Legend would like to accept or not. However, during the time when we prepared the meeting, I was surprised to see the strong connection at IMA club.

Last officer meeting(Skype meeting), we reached the consensus that President, Thomas, would take over the agenda for the next 6 months.

So, I am off for handling the agenda.

I can focus on the host of this joint meeting.

Two months ago, Nov 2012, when my Legend regular meeting was being canceled, I visited IMA meeting. It's been a long time for me not to visit other sister's club's meetings for about 2 years. So, I was quite surprised that IMA could hold a wonderful meeting at Saturday morning?! After their meeting, at the 2nd run, I asked them for the advices for operation of the advanced club. One of the senior member suggested to host a joint meeting of these 2 advanced clubs. I wondered whether this would happened, despite the location and time might cause the inconvenience. 
But, we make it in Jan 5, 2013. So great~

Speaker Kevin talked about his Marathon experience. I always respect people who focus on sports in daily lives. Kind of like people share their persistence.

Speaker Irene, talked about her SOHO "Foto" speech. WoW~ It's so good to see my friends' ""dream come true" speech. Combine interest with job, and make a living by this. GOOD.

Joint meeting with YZU TMC again, YZU's EVP Sheila is much professional than I am. Her tone is encouraging, and she hangs on till the last minute. Moreover, she is willing to take the next term president of YZU TMC.

Well, looks like Legend's new president, Thomas, doesn't just want a normal and calm discharge and installation ceremony. He wants to have a KTV party.
He wants to sing, SING, SING~
And he wants to sing OLD SONGS only. =="

So, for Legend members, right after Legend's discharge and installation ceremony, say 17:30. We will have a 2nd run, KTV party, at Chungli downtown.
Anyone is welcomed to sing, and dance.

Looks like we have 10 people registered on FB, now. I just called Cashbox, Chungli store, about reservation: 
1. Time to book Cashbox, could be 2 days ago. Precise time and number of people would be better. Cashbox would only keep the reservation for 10 mins, so..... Also, if anyone has "the Cashbox Party card", then there would be 5% discount.(Please notify me or Thomas if you this "Cashbox party card")
2. Fee: 3 hours, (17:00-20:00, or 18:00 to 21:00, or ...), per person:
a. 399+10% service+room= 495 NTD
b. 399+199(food)+10% service+room= 595 NTD
3. The size of the room would be depend on the number of people, whether people want to eat ( 199 NTD) or not, and time we arrive Cashbox.

If there is no big change recently, I would just book Cashbox for 18:00-21:00, 10-12 people.

wow, we hang on for 6 months, and finally, first meeting in 2012!!!

Vicky just gave birth (her baby), Joanne was pregnant, and Henson was married in 2011!!!
So far, we have 2 speakers, Richard& Celia from NCU TMC. 
Legend president Alice is going to give her first workshop.

Dear All

The previous first Saturdays of February and March happened to be the working days for most of the members. We held joint meetings with YZU on second Saturdays of the past two months, Feb 11, and Mar 10. Now we are back to Legend TMC's regular meeting on April 7, 2012, Saturday. 
President Alice told me, this time we would have Roger Du to be the trainer, and personally, I'd like to give my A8. 
Also, this coming Div. E contest at NCU TMC. Alice Lee will compete for the international speech, and Julia Hsu would compete for the table topics, as two representatives of Legend TMC. And our new father and mommy, Josh and Vicky, would show up in the contest as well, so, come as the cheer leader for them.

Legend Sept 1 meeting was with the atmosphere of "family." 

Uncle Josh gave us a super great evaluation workshop that I wanted to invited him to give 100 workshops for Legend.
Variety session Vicky's game was so fun that we knew who were bad at spelling.
Both Clare and Thomas' humorously speeches were "interesting," plus courageous.
IE, Kevin Lin, always provided critique and suggestions.
TM of the day, Jula Hsu, managed the "modified in-house contest meeting" well.
GE, Rojer evaluated the meeting with moderate suggestions.
Table topic master, Celia, brought us the topics about traveling.

That's enough for the previous meeting.
Now is the contest season, so, some members might be invited to be the judges, or some might just go to see sister clubs' contests. Great.

My Legend TMC members,

By looking at Josh's nice photos, plus the great feedback from visitors, and super great meeting minutes about Legend Oct meeting. You can tell Legend is a place, where friends share lives in the first Saturday afternoon.

 Another thing is, now is contest season. It starts from the club in-house(Sept), division contest (Oct), to district contest (Nov), it's a time to see people "progress" in a short limit of time. Join some contests if you can. (I just send a notification mail to you about the district fall conference.)

OK, back to the basics. As the EVP, I'd like to remind you about the coming Nov meeting.

So far, I've received the message from 4 members that they are not available for Legend Nov 3 meeting.

This means: we might not have enough members to carry the 10 assignments.

My friends,

Legend November 3 meeting has been canceled due to most members have conflict schedule on that day. Thus, Thomas and I make a decision to create a joint meeting with YZU TMC in Nov., our sister club, which holds the similar meeting time on the Saturdays of the month. If you want to see how YZU TMC run their meeting on November 10, you can join this meeting. Later on, we might work out the schedule together. Thomas and I may contact with you.

By the way, I've registered to district conference (for Clare Lu) today. I would go to the conference on day 2, and Thomas would go on day 1. Hope we can learn something from the conference and take them back to Legend TMC.

One last thing, save your energy for coming December meeting(Dec 1) and Div. E X'mas party(Dec 15).

Actually, I haven't visited YZU for more than 6 months. I am surpised to see the senior members are back to YZU and take the major assignments. Like Brian's A10 "Toastmasters journey", Julia's "Beckpacker" and Kevin's evaluation. As long as the membership of the club, to host a quality meeting would be much easier.

This meeting theme "life is a box of .......", and the main subjects, travelling and movies, are constantly mentioned through the meeting. Good connection.
